Safe Exchange Spots
Love4Thrift is a local meetup marketplace — no shipping, no middleman, cash or app payment in person. That means where you meet matters.
These are public, well-lit places around Pittsburgh and the Mon Valley where buyers and sellers can hand things off. Several are police-department “exchange zones” with video recording.
Four rules we ask every member to follow
- Meet in daylight when you can, in a public place — never at a private home for a first meetup.
- Tell someone where you are going and who you are meeting.
- Check the item before money changes hands. Sellers: bring the exact item in the photos.
- If the other person will not meet somewhere public, walk away.
Police exchange zones are camera-recorded but not watched live. If something feels wrong, call 911 — do not wait by the camera.
Large furniture? Many of these lots cannot take a truck for long. Message the seller to agree on a loading spot, or use the moving help offered on our furniture listings.
